 Annual Day ‘Club Trip’

Buses lining up down Inkerman Row. This annual day trip used to average 30/33 Buses per year..

The two men on the left are Albert Wroe and Albert Cusworth, the lady passing them is Betty Cookson. The man in front of the bus with his back towards the photo is Horace Cusworth, the man  in the doorway is Laurence 'Lol' Jenkinson..

The Jump WMC Club trip and  Jump WMC sports day were the two big main events on the calendar year..  My memories of the club trip was the build up waiting for the committee to put the board out allocating what bus you was on, we knew they wouldn't put it out till Wed/Thurs but we would be there from 6 o'clock Monday..Even at such a young age I knew not to look above bus 5 that was only for the privileged, men in the streets used to doff their caps to people who had that privilege, and by such miracle you happened to get on the legendary Bill Butterworths No1 bus ooh!! here we're talking Royalty global recognition..I always sensed Bill didn't like me, one year he put me on bus 31 and there was only 30 going..
